A break in the heat!! The weather cooperated with us on a very full day. Our group has seen a lot and are now resting fabulous accommodations.

This morning we viewed the Bahai Gardens in Haifa. We toured the prison and city of Akko where both Muslims and Jews lived and were impacted during the Crusades. Following that we trekked up Mt. Meron where we saw ancient winery remnants. At the top we had our first group discussion focusing on our personal Jewish identity.

This afternoon the group went to Tsfat, the mystical Kaballistic city. We toured two synagogues, heard about the history of the mystical kaballists and the emergence of the Zohar.

Tonight we were treated to a schnitzel dinner and our enjoying such great accommodations. Staff have provided us with some authentic Israeli treats for the day to keep us fueled. Tomorrow is on to learning about the life in Northern Israel. Just a reminder more pictures can be seen here.

  2. Why was the picture of the Israeli Soldier girl with the m16 machine gun removed from the Photographs on the Oranim site, along with a couple of other pictures as well?
